I'm craving sweets sooooo badly right now!!

I just finished reading Hamilton's The Killing Dance about an hour ago (needless to say I loved it, although the way things turned out did surprise me a bit and I am truly curious about how the continuing books will play out). I haven't started Burnt Offerings yet but will probably start on it by night's end - or at the very least by tommorow evening. I am currently in the middle of many, many books. It used to be where I could not stand to read more than one novel at a time, however lately I have found myself reading anywhere from 2 to 10 novels at a go. There are just too many amazing stories out there right now for me to choose which should go first so rather than having to decided I go back and forth - occassionally I'll stumble across a certain book or series that grabs my full attention and I'll stick to it/them to the end uninterrupted, but for the most part I read whichever book I am in the mood for.

I also tend to go back and read & re-read my favorite books over and over and over and over and over again until I can quote good portions of the books from memory. I can not tell you how many times I've come back to Stephenie Meyer's Twilight Series, Gena Showalter's Playing With Fire, and C.L. Wilson's Tairen Soul Series (lets just say I actually have the majority of her made-up language down pat!...I especially love the phrase "Ver reisa ku'chae, Kem surah, Shei'tani" ~ "Your soul calls out. Mine answers, beloved. Pathetic I know that huh? Well oh well, it's just that damn good ;)...)

At the moment I've been keeping my focus mostly on the Anita Blake Series by Hamilton, however I have also been reading Christina Feehan's Dark Legend, J.R. Ward's Dark Lover, Sabrina Jeffries' Beware A Scots' Revenge, and Kresley Cole's A Hunger Like No Other. Oh! I've also been busy rereading Keri Arthur's Kissing Sin...the books in her series have been so damn good I actually started rereading the first books before finishing the rest of the series lol. I also just recently received Blood Red by Sharon Page thru the mail so I doubt I'll be able to resist the temptation of this particular novel for long. It's crazy how many amazing books there are out there at the moment - so many and yet somehow not enough haha. :)

okay well I'm hungry now so I'm off to raid my fridge *and with any luck will find something chocolate within it's depths!!)

Still helplessly entranced in Hamilton's series!

I just started on Hamilton's The Killing Dance this morning. I haven't had much time to read it but already it's had Anita with Jean-Claude, Edward and Richard so it's looking to be once again a fabulous read (not that there was ever any doubt of that lol).

I have to say, I am in LOVE with everything about this book from the storyline, to the dialogue, to the action and romance aspects of it, it's ALL amazing!! But most of all I LOVE THE CHARACTERS and their relationships! My favorites are the relationship between Anita & Jean-Claude (come on! Who wouldn't love these 2 when they're together?? They have this amazing connection that just makes them click on a deeper level than the other characters - even if one of them *coughs "Anita"* refuses to see it).

Also, I love the relationship between Edward & Anita. I love that they are so equally matched, and that although Anita often depicts him as a merciless killing machine who would kill her if it suited him (which he very possibly might), that they are friends who tend to trust one another and I believe the significance of that bond is stronger than either realize or are willing to acknowledge. This latest book looks like it will have a great deal of Edward so I'm dying to keep those pages turning lol! In fact, I think I'll ditch my fun blogging and delve into the book's wonderful words now... ;)

Later Gator...

~*~ Quote Of The Week ~*~

Okay well as you can imagine, being so in love (a.k.a obsessed) with books, it shouldn't come as a surprise I also love poetry and quotes and such. I have pages of quotes (mostly about love and life) written down. And so, I have decided to start posting "Quote Of The Week". Every Monday I intend to post one of my fave quotes here on my blog for all to enjoy :)

Okay...My quote this week is not only one of my favorites but is one that I have taken to spouting out any and every chance I get.

"Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain."

Your Colors Are Showin... ;)

Take this test!
You're blue — the most soothing shade of the spectrum. The color of a clear summer sky or a deep, reflective ocean, blue has traditionally symbolized trust, solitude, and loyalty. Most likely a thoughtful person who values spending some time on your own, you'd rather connect deeply with a few people than have a bunch of slight acquaintances. Luckily, making close friends isn't that hard, since people are naturally attracted to you — they're soothed by your calming presence. Cool and collected, you rarely overreact. Instead, you think things through before coming to a decision. That level-headed, thoughtful approach to life is patently blue — and patently you!

UCSB HERE I COME *gulp*

It's official...About an hour ago I sent in my Statement of Intent to Register with the University of Santa Barbara California, meaning I am officially a soon-to-be student of the wonderful university. It's crazy to think, come September, I will be a college freshman at a university in another town. I'm excited but terribly nervous. Here's hoping I don't screw it up within the first 5 minutes of being on my own lol.

On quite a different note: I found this adorable picture online of Anita Blake and Jean-Claude (from Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake Series - if you've read any of my recent posts you know I'm deep in love with this series and falling deeper with each turn of the page.)

Isn't it adorable?

Long Time No Post :)

Sorry it's been so long since I last posted; being the occasional dummy I am, I forgot my password...ridiculous I know. Thankfully though I remembered it tonight and am back and ready to post! LOL!

I am still bogged down right now but that's to be expected. Thankfully though I have been finding time to read:). I am completely helpless against Hamilton's Anita Blake Series. It has definitely found a permanent place in my first circle of books.

FYI: While most people divide their books into favorites by their first favorite, second favorite, ect...I divide mine into their own "circles" because I am absolutely incapable of picking 1 fave book. My first circle consists of books that have changed my life...the books in this circle are my beloved treasures that I would never want to live without - a bit extreme I know, but hey, these are some damn good books! Some of the books in my first circle are Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series, Christina Feehan's Dark Series, C.L. Wilson's Tairen Soul Series, Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist By: David Levithan and Rachel Cohn,
Keri Arthur's Riley Jenson Guardian Series, Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake Series, J.K Rowling's Harry Potter Series, Everything written by Gena Showalter, Nicole Jordan's Courtship Wars Trilogy, Karen Chance's Cassandra Palmer Series, Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark Series, Kim Harrison's Rachel Morgan Series, Just Listen By: Sarah Dessen, This Lullaby By: Sara Dessen, Honey, Baby, Sweetheart By: Deb Caletti, Sabrina Jeffries' Royal Brotherhood Series, P.S. I Love You By: Celia Ahern, Pride & Prejudice By: Jane Austin, Jane Eyre By: Charlotte Bronte, Fitzwilliam Darcy, Gentleman Trilogy By: Pamela Aidan, and there are really so many more, however at the moment I can not think of them and I'd hate to bore you with the never-ending list lol (and to think that would only be the books in my first circle haha).

Anyways, the point (yes, there had been a point at the beginning of this whole jumble) is that I am now in love with the Anita Blake Series and am dying to continue the series (thank goodness there's so many of them...although by the time I finish the last one I'm positive I'll have thought there wasn't enough!) I am currently working on Bloody Bones right now (gotta love these titles!!) ;)...

Guess that's all right now...Toodles :)

Told Ya I'd Be Back... ;)

Laurell K Hamilton Guilty Pleasures book cover Anita Blake Series 2: The Laughing Corpse by Laurell K. Hamilton Anita Blake Series 3: Circus of the Damned by Laurell K. Hamilton

I just got into a new series!! I'd been meaning to read Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series for a long time but always allowed other books to take its place in my reading list because although the storyline seemed interesting, I assumed it wouldn't live up to all of the hype - boy was I ever wrong! Hamilton's Anita Blake series (beginning with "Guilty Pleasures") is simply fabulous :). Hamilton is a good writer who has come up with an amazingly unique storyline, and has created a splendid (not to mention highly detailed and intriguing) world filled with characters that will not only grab and hold your attention, but who will bring forth a strong desire to either embrace or slap them silly. The dialogue is witty, the many events/adventures our heroin must overcome keep readers on their toes, and the characters are so wonderfully written you can't hhelp but be sucked into Blake's world of animators, vampires, voodoo priestesses, shape shifters and the like...

I have only read the first 2 books in the series ("Guilty Pleasures", & "The Laughing Corpse") and am just starting the 3rd installment ("Circus of the Damned") but already I'm hooked!!! I'm desperate to see what happens next and how the character relationships will deepen.

By the end of the first book I had already fallen in love with half of the characters, laughed and screamed at the pages, and mourned over losing one of the sweetest characters. The books instantly went to my favorites list and I recommend it to everyone.

How Can It Only Be TUESDAY???

How can it possibly only be Tuesday? It feels more like a Thursday to me. I was sick all of last week and just when I thought I was getting better over the weekend, Sunday evening comes around with an extra dose of pain. Yippe for me! I just got a laptop which means I'll likely be on here more often - that is, when I'm not feeling crappy. Well gotta skadat right now but I'll come on later...
